2008 Pan-Ams 3/28/08

ALLIANCE TAKES THE TEAM TITLE!!! Once again we are the world champions! We had dominating performances from many guys what a great effort. Congrats to Fabio and Jacare who really deserve the title after all the hard work over the past few years. Congrats to all who competed. We will be gunning for it again at the Mundials!

The Arnold Classic 3/2/08

Alliance Cleveland didnt take many guys to the Arnold this year because of various injuries to some of the competition team we only had two guys compete. However, they did a great job. Greg Campioletti has been excelling very fast as he managed to bring home two bronze medals by utilizing a great guard to pull of some well executed submissions that made us very proud. James Becker did well in the blue belt division but came up short this time. Both guys represented the team well, good job guys! We are looking to have a larger team at the Ohio Grappling Challenge and looking to make some serious noise there.

Mundials/USA Championships 8/25/26/27/07

After a tough training camp in Atlanta, team Alliance takes second place over all in team standings and first in the juvenile. We had some excellent performance from everyone. Ken Kenney competed in his second Mundial and did quite well. There was 84 guyys in his bracket and he was one of the final eight. He submitted all of his opponents and was winning his match in the fourth round until he made a mistake that cost him the match in the final minute and a half!! It was a very good performance from Ken. Congrats to him and the rest of the team.

Masters World Championships Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 7/06/07

Ken Kenney placed third after a hard fought semifinal that saw him on the losing end 3 to 2 to the eventual champion that managed to submit everyone except Ken. Also, Ken had a good run in the absolute, submitting his first two opponents and losing on points in a very exciting quaterfinal to a VERY large man, whom again was the eventual gold medal winner. Congratulations on a good run just falling short of the finals.

Naga-Ohio 7/14/07

James Becker takes secod in the mens no-gi advanced division after losing a close match to a blackbelt in the finals. James won a hard fought match in the first round in overtime and submitted his opponenet by armbar in the semifinals to earn his way to the finals. Congrats to James on a proud performance. Unfortunately James did not get to compete in the Gi portion of the tournament because of conflicting times during the Gi and No-gi.

Ohio Grappling Challenge Cleveland, Oh 6/09/07

James Becker A.K.A Favela, turned in an excellent performance today bringing home three medals. He nearly fininshed his opponent in the Gi finals with a triangle but came up short on points to get the silver. James took third in the no-gi advanced division and also placed third in the pro absolute, nearly takingthe match in the semis. Congrats to James on a proud performance.

Team Alliance Dominates! Ken and James both dominated the purple and blue belt divisions, respectfully winning all matches
(5 each) by submission except for one. Two men entered, four gold medals left with them. As did a picture with WWE superstar Virgil!
